Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Fused Glass?

Kiln-forming, as a technique to shape glass, has been in use for centuries. Hand rolled, colored glass pieces are layered with your cremations and heated in a special glass kiln to over 1500 degrees. They are melted together to become an artful memento.

Why does my product look slightly different from the gallery?

Handmade pieces will not be identical due to the process. Bubbles, shape, lines and slight color differences are all characteristics of handmade fused glass. You will receive a unique piece that is exclusive not only by the significance of the contents but also the appearance.

Are your glass pieces really made by hand?

Yes. All of the mementos are made by hand from start to finish. This begins with cutting the glass to forming the contents through firing the finished piece.

What are your shipping and handling fees?

All of the shipping and handling fees are included in the pricing. You will receive postage paid return envelope along with a small container to separate ashes for me to use.

Why is there a minimum order?

All requests are handled individually so as to ensure no combining or mixup with cremains.  In order to optimize the kiln usage for each request, a set of 6 to 8 mementos is crafted.  It is not economical to fire the kiln for 1 or 2 mementos.

What is your return policy?

There is no return policy as the mementos are such a personal item. I will work with you if you are dissatisfied with the product for any reason.

What do you do with leftover ashes?

Any remaining cremains will be returned to you with your glass mementos.
